February 26 - March 2

February has been filled with so many exciting events and so much learning fun!
Here are a few snapshots from throughout the month.

Thank you to Dr. Rica Adorable for sharing with our class all about Oral Hygiene and what it is like to be a dentist. Leo was very proud to have his mom share her all about her expertise with his friends.

The Hart Museum shared so many opportunities to compare the past and the present. Our docent was so knowledgable and the students loved exploring the beautiful grounds.

We celebrate the 100th Day of First Grade with 100 themed learning.
They wore their 100th Day hats with pride!

February 12-16

What an exciting week we had last week!

Thank you to the chaperones, and all of the families that donated toward the field trip. The students would not have had that experiences without you!
We learned all about William Hart's life and explored the comparisons of the the past and the present.

The students were surprised by how many things were the same, and how some big things were very different during Hart's life.

They also enjoyed seeing the Bison herd on the property, feeding the other animals and sharing a picnic with friends on the beautiful grounds.

100th Day of School was another fun filled day.

We celebrated by making out 100 Day projects, exploring ways to group 100. We also enjoyed a set of 100 themed outdoor activities with all of the first grade classes. It was a fantastic celebration of 100 days of learning!

This Wednesday is Valentine's Day. If your student would like to pass out valentines to all 21 classmates, that would be great!
The first grade is asking that the students bring only valentines, no candy or other treats to distribute to their classmates. Thank you for your cooperation. :)

Monday February 19, President's Day is NO SCHOOL.
Enjoy the three day weekend!

January 16-20

Next week is Welby Fitness Week, Jan. 22-26.
POWW has planned several exciting and engaging activities for all of the students to get active.
Today a purple sheet was sent home for your family to take the Eat a Rainbow Challenge next week.
The sheets are to be returned next Friday, and counted up for class points.
This is a spirited school-wide competition, so please support our class as our students enjoy                 " Committing to Getting Fit!", the theme of the week.

Please log on to the website for details about how to support the school.

The students' Fitness Week shirts will be handed out on Monday morning. The class will receive bonus class points for the week if every student is wearing their shirt or our class color every day (light blue).

All are welcome to cheer on our class on Friday from 8:10-9:50 while they run their Fitness Run laps. The students will enjoy a snack together after their run.  Hope to see you there!

Thank you for all of your continued support!!
