Last week was filled with learning and exploration. Some our the highlights included learning about the artist Jackson Pollock, watching some footage of him painting in his drip style, and then trying it out ourselves! It was thrilling to create a piece of artwork in his likeness. We also experimented with sound and discovered through our experimenting that sound is created by vibrations! Have your scholar share all about how they made that discovery. This week we will continue to explore sound through observations and experiments. We are continuing to seek answers to the Essential Question in our literacy unit, "Why do people get involved in their communities?". This also ties in with our learning in Social Studies Unit 1, Citizenship. This will be a bustling, busy week of first grade!
